Wind Symphony: TCCBDA holds an organizational meeting at the Texas Bandmasters Association clinic in San Antonio. Audition etudes for the are selected from the TMEA All-State etudes.

Wind Symphony and Jazz Ensemble etude lists are posted on this website.
October 13 – October 15
Wind Symphony: Each institution submits students name and instrument ONLY during the 3-day time through the TMEA audition portal. NO RECORDINGS WILL BE REQUIRED AT THIS TIME. However, per the TCCBDA Constitution, ANY institution submitting student names for auditions will be required to pay an institutional due and audition fee for any student(s) signed up during this window of time. Any student name NOT submitted during this time will not be allowed to submit an audition recording the following week. The TCCBDA Treasurer create an invoice and send to each institution for all fees for WIND SYMPHONY auditions. Form 1 is no longer needed.
October 20 – October 22
Wind Symphony: Each school records and submits its students' auditions through the audition portal supplied by TMEA. These recordings will be accessed by a judging panel to score and rank the recordings.
October 27 – October 29
Jazz Ensemble: : Each institution submits students name and instrument ONLY during the 3-day time through the TMEA audition portal. NO RECORDINGS WILL BE REQUIRED AT THIS TIME. However, per the TCCBDA Constitution, ANY institution submitting student names for auditions will be required to pay an institutional due and audition fee for any student(s) signed up during this window of time. Any student name NOT submitted during this time will not be allowed to submit an audition recording the following week. The TCCBDA Treasurer create an invoice and send to each institution for all fees for Jazz Ensemble auditions. Form 2 is no longer needed. If an institution submits for both Wind Symphony and Jazz Ensemble, the institution director may contact the TCCBDA Treasurer to request a combined invoice for audition fees.
November 3 – November 5
Jazz Ensemble: Each school records and submits its students' auditions through the audition portal supplied by TMEA. These recordings will be accessed by a judging panel to score and rank the recordings.
Mid-November
Wind Symphony Results of the auditions are circulated to members via email from the President. Part assignments will be sent based on the concert program of the clinician.
Jazz Ensemble: Results of the auditions (including part assignments) are circulated to members via email from the President.
Housing Forms: The vice president will need a housing form from each institution with room needs. Per the TCCBDA constitution, an institution representative must stay in the host hotel with if a student achieves All – State honors.

Wind Symphony and Jazz Ensemble: The Wind Symphony Music Organizer and Jazz Ensemble organizer sends sponsoring directors the music selections that will be used for the conference.
Mid-February
(at the TMEA clinic/conference in San Antonio)
Wind Symphony and Jazz Ensemble: Rehearsals will begin Wednesday evening
Saturday: Concerts by both groups are performed in the afternoon. Directors must be present to assist with equipment moves.
